Eaton brand extends to include Montage's capability in business intelligence, CRM, application integration and server administration – highly useful IT skills that few Marcom teams could ever hope to include in-house.
Customer conversion and retention
The Web results that really matter are customer conversion and retention. But, like many manufacturers, Eaton goes to market through resellers so lead generation, rather than direct sales, is therefore
powerquality.eaton.com's main objective and key measure.
Accordingly, we have introduced lead generation features across the site and integrated their output into Eaton's CRM systems.
In addition, there are so many customer and prospect touchpoints across
powerquality.eaton.com we are implementing a ‘single view of the customer' strategy to improve marketing opportunities and customer retention.
Globalization
Originally, the Eaton brand was represented by a collection of independent, country based
Web sites of varying quality. Effort was often duplicated and information delivery inconsistent.
Following a strategic globalization plan, the Eaton / Montage
Web team put in place a global, unified Web presence with extensive country level localization run very efficiently from two centers in North Carolina and New Zealand.
Day-to-day content management
Our first project for Eaton was to convert an existing website to a new corporate design standard. After delivering this at lightening speed - and at a fraction of the cost of local vendors - Eaton invited Montage to manage the content lifecycle throughout its global Web presence.
Today, we liaise with over 40 Eaton product and OEM channel managers worldwide, often on a daily basis, to keep web content fresh and in-sync with business activity. We understand the products and the markets and proactively maintain information quality. Content updates are usually completed on a same day basis.
There's more to this than making Web pages. Montage ensures that all content is optimized for search engines and translated and adapted according to local needs. What makes the difference is Montage's attention to detail and proactive working relationships with the subject matter experts.
Data Management
Many of powerquality.eaton.com's applications such as the product selector and reseller locator require daily maintenance of the underlying data. This is tedious but essential work that can suffer from being sidelined by busy internal resources. Eaton avoids that trap by outsourcing daily data maintenance to Montage.
The database that drives the UPS product selector includes thousands of products from over 30 ICT manufacturers – Montage keeps this completely accurate and up to date.
